Craig and his team used a large drone equipped with GPS controls to accurately drop pest bait on a small difficult to access bush site on our property.
I was impressed with the accuracy of placement.
I believe this technology will become another valuable tool as we progress towards the goal of Predator Free 2050 to mop up isolated pest populations that are not accessible for ground based control or are too small to effectively control with helicopter or fixed wing aircraft. Other uses for the equipment could be carrying thermal imaging cameras to survey pest numbers and locations or spot spraying invasive weeds like privet, gorse or climbing spindle berry in difficult to access forested areas.
